Obesity Management and Post Bariatric Care of Patients living with Obesity
Foundational Curriculum Sessions
Objectives:
Describe the OBN referral process & criteria for referral
Describe the OBN approach to patient assessment preparation/management prior to treatment
Describe concepts of weight bias & weight stigma & their impact on patient care
Objectives:
Describe the comorbidities & chronic conditions associated with obesity
Identify factors & approaches that facilitate a discussion about weight with patients living with obesity
Initiate assessment & treatment discussion related to obesity in a non-judgemental & patient-centered way with a patient living with obesity

Describe the efficacy of lifestyle & dietary regimes in order to recommend options for patients living with obesity

Assess & manage Anemia and Vitamin B12 deficiencies for patients who have undergone bariatric surgery
